The Government Liaison Committee strengthens the relationship between the Phuket Hotels Association and key government bodies at the national, provincial, and local levels.
Our mission is to keep members updated on relevant policy developments, regulatory changes, and industry guidance, while promoting constructive collaboration with authorities. By representing the collective voice of Phuket’s hospitality sector, we support an environment that encourages growth, resilience, and long-term success for our member hotels.
This Committee plays a key role as a driving force behind PHIST (Phuket Hotels Island Sustainable Tourism), the Association’s flagship initiative and the first of its kind, launched in 2017. PHIST has grown into the island’s largest sustainability event, bringing together the hospitality industry, community partners, and environmental leaders to advance responsible tourism practices.
In addition, the Committee leads Phuket Green Day, an island-wide quarterly clean-up initiative, and actively supports ongoing sustainability training programs and the adoption of best environmental practices across Phuket’s hospitality sector.

Our Environmental Committee leads the way in motivating action within member hotels and the wider community through education, practical workshops, and collaborative initiatives. We are committed to cultivating a culture of sustainability based on practical solutions and long-term vision.
Through conservation projects, training sessions, and large-scale events, we continue to grow our network of environmental advocates working together to protect Phuket’s natural resources and promote responsible tourism for future generations.
The Phuket Hotels Association Education Committee is committed to promoting lifelong learning and professional development in the hospitality industry. We offer scholarships, training programmes, and educational resources that enable individuals to develop, lead, and succeed in their careers. Our dedication to nurturing talent ensures that both current and future hospitality professionals have access to the support they need to reach their full potential.
To date, the Association has proudly funded over 125 students studying in Phuket’s tourism and hospitality sector. We have also supported six hotel leaders in completing the prestigious Cornell General Manager Programme, thereby strengthening leadership capacity within our member hotels.
