The Khai Islands — Koh Khai Nok, Koh Khai Nai, and Koh Khai Nui — are three small, flat islands located about 12 kilometres east of Phuket, easily reached by speedboat in under 30 minutes. Their surrounding waters are exceptionally shallow and clear, with sandy seabeds and modest coral gardens that make them ideal for first-time snorkelers and families with young children. Each island has basic facilities including sun loungers, beach restaurants, and toilet blocks. The islands are a standard stop on most Phuket day-trip itineraries. Though busier than more remote sites, the water visibility and ease of access make them genuinely enjoyable. Noi and Nui tend to be slightly quieter than the larger Nok island. Best visited in the dry season between November and April.
