Khao Lampi – Hat Thai Mueang National Park lies just north of Phuket in Phang Nga Province and covers over 220 square kilometres of coastal forest, mangrove estuary, and open beach. The park's long, gently curved beach at Hat Thai Mueang is one of the most important sea turtle nesting sites in Thailand, with olive ridley and leatherback turtles coming ashore between November and February to lay eggs. Entry to nesting areas is restricted during this period. The park interior contains waterfalls, hiking trails, and pockets of lowland rainforest with good birdwatching. It receives far fewer visitors than Sirinat National Park to the south, making it a genuinely peaceful escape. Accommodation is available within the park at government-run bungalows. An easy day trip from northern Phuket or Khao Lak.
