The Windmill Viewpoint, known locally as Khao Hua Jook, sits on a hilltop above Nai Harn in the south of Phuket and takes its name from the row of white wind turbines installed along the ridge as part of a local energy initiative. The viewpoint offers one of the most dramatic panoramas on the island, with Nai Harn Bay directly below, the Promthep headland to the south, and on clear days a sweep of coast stretching toward Rawai and the southern islands. The hilltop is accessible by road, and a modest café near the summit serves drinks and snacks. The view is equally rewarding at sunrise and sunset, and unlike Promthep Cape it is rarely crowded. The turbines themselves, turning slowly against the sky, make for an unusual and photogenic element in an island landscape more typically associated with temples and beaches. The short road to the summit winds through rubber plantations and offers glimpses of the bay below.
