Built in 1903 by Phrapitak Chinpracha, the son of a Hokkien Chinese tin-mining immigrant, Baan Chinpracha is widely regarded as the first Sino-Portuguese mansion of its kind on Phuket. The two-storey residence on Krabi Road was constructed during King Rama V's reign and features imported Italian floor tiles, ornate golden Chinese inscriptions above the entrance, and a serene open-air central courtyard that once collected rainwater. The ground floor has been opened to the public as a museum, with rooms filled with antique family photographs, Chinese ceramics, traditional clothing, and period furniture from China and Europe. The descendants of the original family still live on the upper floor. The mansion was notably used as a filming location for Oliver Stone's 1993 film Heaven and Earth. Admission is approximately 150 Baht.
