Karon Viewpoint, also known as Kata-Karon Viewpoint or Three Bays Viewpoint, sits on a ridge above the southern junction of Karon and Kata beaches and is one of Phuket's most photographed spots. On a clear day the panorama encompasses three distinct crescent bays — Kata Noi, Kata, and Karon — laid out one above the other in a sweep of turquoise and white. The viewpoint is accessible by road and is a popular stop on the route between Kata and Promthep Cape. A small collection of souvenir stalls operates at the summit. Early morning visits offer the clearest light and fewest crowds. The viewpoint is most dramatic between November and March when the skies are consistently clear. Sunset is also popular, with the bays taking on warm amber tones as the light fades.
