The Layan Forest Trail is a short nature walk through a coastal pine and casuarina forest at the northernmost end of Bang Tao Bay, near the Layan Beach estuary. The trail passes through one of the last remaining natural coastal forest patches in this part of Phuket, with large specimen trees providing shade over a sandy forest floor. It is popular with early morning joggers and birdwatchers, and the canopy is home to a variety of resident species including bulbuls, sunbirds, and kingfishers. The trail connects to the beachfront and the estuary fringe, offering a mix of forest and water environments in a compact area. It is an accessible, low-difficulty walk suitable for all fitness levels and is particularly pleasant in the cooler hours of early morning. The adjacent beach and lagoon add to its appeal as a quiet half-hour escape.
