Nai Thon Stairway

The Nai Thon Stairway is a hidden wooden staircase descending from the road between Nai Thon and Layan to a secluded rocky cove on Phuket's northwest coast. It is one of the island's best-kept secrets, known primarily to locals, expats, and adventurous independent travellers. The stairway leads down a steep jungle-clad hillside to a small platform of boulders with direct access to the sea. The cove offers total privacy — visitor numbers are very low — and the water is clear and suitable for swimming and snorkeling on calm days. The location is most enjoyable during the dry season and at low tide, when more rock shelf is exposed. The descent and ascent require reasonable fitness.
