Koh Racha Noi is the smaller and more remote of the two Racha islands, located approximately 28 kilometres south of Phuket and accessible by speedboat in 60 to 90 minutes. The island is uninhabited and has no permanent tourist facilities, making it an exclusively dive and snorkel destination visited by liveaboard boats and day-trip operators from Chalong. Racha Noi is considered one of the premier dive sites in the Andaman, renowned for frequent manta ray sightings, whale shark encounters — more common here than almost anywhere else near Phuket — and exceptional water clarity. The underwater topography includes steep walls, boulders, and diverse reef structures. Surface conditions can be challenging due to currents, making it more suitable for experienced divers. The absence of development means the reef system remains largely intact and the marine life relatively undisturbed.
