Sirinat National Park protects approximately 90 square kilometres of coastline in the northwest of Phuket, encompassing the beaches of Nai Yang, Nai Thon, and parts of Mai Khao, along with a significant area of coastal mangrove forest and offshore coral reef. The park was designated in 1981 and named in honour of HM Queen Sirikit. It functions as one of the last sea turtle nesting sites on Phuket, with leatherback and olive ridley turtles documented nesting along the Mai Khao shore from November to February. The park's mangrove ecosystem filters coastal water, provides nursery habitat for juvenile fish, and supports rich birdlife. A nature trail through the mangroves near Nai Yang is open year-round and is free of charge. The park boundary is clearly signposted and development is prohibited within its limits, keeping the beaches comparatively quiet and natural.
