Koh Bon is a small, rocky island located about one kilometre off Rawai Beach in the southern part of Phuket. It is one of the closest islands to the mainland and easily reached by a short longtail boat ride from Rawai Pier. The island has a modest beach on its western side and good snorkeling along the rocky southern coastline, where colourful reef fish congregate in shallow water. It is most popular for quick half-day trips, particularly with families based in Rawai or Nai Harn. A small beach club operates seasonally on the island, offering sunbeds and drinks. The island has no permanent residents or large accommodation. It is often visited in combination with Koh Hae or Ya Nui as part of a southern Phuket island excursion. Water is generally calmer and clearer on the sheltered eastern side.
