Rang Hill, locally known as Khao Rang, is a forested hilltop park in the centre of Phuket Town, rising about 96 metres above the surrounding streets. The summit offers one of the best panoramic views of Phuket Town, Chalong Bay, and the distant islands to the south available without travelling to the coast. The park contains a fitness area, a jogging track, and a café that is a well-loved local institution for morning coffee and breakfast. A large bronze statue of Phraya Ratsadanupradit — the governor who modernised Phuket's infrastructure in the early 20th century — stands at the summit. The hill is popular with local residents at dawn and dusk and sees relatively few tourists, making it a pleasant and authentic alternative to the island's busier attractions. The surrounding gardens are maintained and shaded, offering a cool green retreat from the town below.
